Let Morning Shine: Stories

I am excited to invite you and all of your friends to Let Morning Shine!: Stories.
As North Korea is one of the most secretive countries in the world, the stories that we do have access to are invaluable. Because knowledge of this significant country is so sparse, we’ve created the opportunity for all who are interested to hear and see the stories we have found. This event, therefore, is an evening of storytelling through art and film.
The film that will be shown during the night is an award-winning film, significantly based on true events (a story-based documentary), which dramatically portrays the plight of a North Korean family.
There will be a silent art auction held throughout the evening. The artwork being sold has been intentionally created by talented artists (most of whom are attending prestigious art schools in London and New York City), as well as other students in various high schools and universities around Hong Kong and the United States. We will also be auctioning photographs graciously donated by Eric Lafforgue, a professional, free lance photographer whose work has been featured on the front cover of National Georaphic as well as in the folds of other magazines such as BBC, CNN Traveller, Globetrotter, Lonely Planet, Blue Planet, Discovery Magazine and more.
The first, original, compilation CD for North Korea was created in February of 2008. The CD, titled, “Let Morning Shine,” features 11 different musicians who came together to donate their talents to this cause. The CD will be available for purchase during the night.
The highlight, however, of this very eventful evening will be a guest speaker from Seoul who will talk about his first-hand experiences in North Korea. Come to hear his incredible story.
Hundred percent of the proceeds will be donated to a non-profit organization working directly to help the people of North Korea.
This event is FREE and open to everyone. Refreshments will be available.
Please encourage your friends to come and take advantage of the stories that we have to share. It will be a great time of listening, learning, and engagement!
